In the Witch’s kitchen, Hallowe’en was brewing.
“We need bats!” cackled the witch.
“We need spiders!” shrieked the witch
“We need pumpkins! cried the witch.
“We need ghosts!” croaked the witch.
She stirred a big pot, and looked out the window.
“The children are coming!” she shouted in glee.
And she watched
As they tiptoed
Up the driveway.
Past the bats which flew in the trees.
Past the spiders which hung in their webs.
Past the pumpkins which sat on the steps.
And past the ghosts that shimmered on the porch.
Up to the door they came and into the witch’s kitchen.
“Boo!” she yelled.
And gave everyone chocolate cake and apple juice.
